Observatory Meteorologic Maps

The interactive weather maps below detail various important conditions at our major observatories.

By default they are set to show local Jetstream data, however many other options are available using the button at top right of each display including useful data on various levels of cloud, winds, humidity, forecasts etc.

The displays below show the high level winds at the Jetstream (250hpa) above the observatories. Low wind speeds of less than 60kts will likely bring the best seeing for imaging. Wind speeds of 60kts+ will likely result in average seeing. Speeds of over 100kts can result in poor seeing conditions.
